Background Dr Clara Dumebi Moemeke is an Associate Professor and Director, UNIDEL Consult, University of Delta, Agbor. She is a Science Educator, Curriculum developer, and an outstanding Science teacher who is versatile, self-motivated, hardworking and passionate about teaching and research. Born in Idumuje - Ugboko in Aniocha North Local Government area of Delta State, she attended Olomina Girls Grammar School, Onicha-Olona where she had her secondary education, finishing in flying colours. She proceeded to the College of Education, Agbor where she earned the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE in Biology/Chemistry with Distinction in Biology) and was a recipient of the first best graduating student award for biology. She bagged the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc Ed) Degree in Biology Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; M.Ed and Ph.D in Science Education (Curriculum) at the University of Benin, Benin City. She is a certified online facilitator from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She has attended several national and international professional development training, workshops, and conferences in Nigeria, Hungary, Cambodia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates in science teaching and learning and Research and Development (R & R&D). She has been a trainer for the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). Dr. Moemeke has taught Biology, Chemistry and Integrated science in many secondary schools in defunct Bendel and present Delta states before joining the College of Education, Agbor as Lecturer 1 in the Department of Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology from where she rose to the rank of Chief Lecturer before the upgrade of the College to the University of Delta, Agbor in February, 2021. She has served the College of Education, Agbor in different capacities such as Coordinator of Teaching Practice of the Delta State University affiliate Degree programme; Coordinator, Centre for Educational Technology (CET); Liaison Officer for ADAPTI training; Director, Centre for Educational Technology; member, Distinguish Lecture Committee; Member, Tetfund Institution-Based research committee; Member, Tetfund Conference Committee; member, Conference and Journal Committee of the School of Education, College of Education, Agbor; Chairman of School of Education, College of Education, Agbor Conference and Journal Committee; Member, ICT Committee, College of Education, Agbor; Member, investigative committee on the College JAMB/CBT Centre; Acting Head of Department, Science Education, Faculty of Education, University of Delta, Agbor; Chairman, Advisory Committee on UNIDEL Consult and UNIDEL farms; Chairman, University of Delta Staff Audit Committee; Chairman, University of Delta Examination misconduct committee; member Examination monitoring committee; member, investigative committee on obscene video; Chairman, Faculty of Education, University of Delta, Agbor Resource Allocation Committee; Chairman, Faculty of Education Conference, Journal and Public Lecture Committee and many others and member, faculty of Education restructuring committee. Dr Moemeke joined the University of Benin in Adjunct capacity as Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology (CIT) in 2018/2019 session where she taught and supervised Postgraduate students in Science Education and Curriculum since 2019. She has distinctive research qualities and as such has received several research grants from Tetfund for research and conference attendance. She won the first Best graduating Biology student award of College of Education, Agbor, Federal Ministry of Education of Nigeria Technical Teachers’ Training programme (TTTP) for the pursuit of Masters in Education (M.Ed) and her Ph.D thesis was awarded the Best Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City thesis of the year 2006 and represented the Faculty in the National Universities Commission (NUC) Best Thesis contest in 2006. Dr Moemeke is an external examiner to many Colleges of Education in Nigeria, has supervised many Masters and Ph.D projects and chaired many Ph.D thesis defenses while working in University of Benin, Benin City. She has a passion for training and capacity development. She was one-time Administrator of the Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADAPTI) for Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Abuja where she played a vital role in the design and test implementation of digital appreciation programme up to 2010. She is a peer reviewer for many national and international journals. She is the President of Delta State Chapter of Gender Studies Association of Nigeria, the Assistant Editor of Interdisciplinary Journal of gender and Women Development Studies, and a National Officer of Gender studies Association of Nigeria. She is a member of Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) and the current panel chair for teacher Education of STAN; member, Organization of Women in Science in Developing World (OWSD); member, Association of Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) in USA; member, National Association of Research in Science Teaching (NARST) in USA; member, Association of Digital Education and Technology (ADECT) in Nigeria; member, Gender Studies Association of Nigeria (GSAN); member, Curriculum organization of Nigeria (CON); member, Association of Nigerian Academics (ANA) among others. She is a Fellow of Gender studies Association of Nigeria and has been given award of Excellent Service and decorated with the ‘Ezinne’ title by the Catholic Women Organization of St Columba Catholic Church, Agbor. She has over sixty publications, authored one textbook, co-authored another and co-edited several other textbooks.
